OSSTF D20 Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee

The OSSTF D20 SOGIC is open to unlimited members who identify as part of the lesbian, bi, gay, trans, queer, non-binary and two-spirit community.

SOGIC works for 2S&LGBTQIA+ identified members to :

To provide a safe space to organize and actively engage in their union;
To provide support for members who face discrimination in their workplaces and/or union;
To raise the profile of 2S&LGBTQIA+ identified members in the district;
To provide an informed voice in the decision making processes of the union;
To provide guidance and support to executive and branch presidents to ensure an affirming approach to assisting 2S&LGBTQIA+ identified members;
To build union capacity to address systemic discrimination against 2S&LGBTQIA+ members

OSSTF D20 Indigenous, Black and Racialized Voices Committee

IBRV is open to members who identify as Indigenous, Black or racialized

Objectives

To provide support for members who face racism in their workplaces and/or union;
To build union capacity around anti-oppression, anti-colonial and anti-racist practice
To ensure an anti-oppressive and anti-colonial framework is used in decision making processes
To provide a safe space for Indigenous, Black and Racialized members to connect and engage in the union
